Safety Manager

Vanguard Energy Partners is seeking a qualified Site Safety Manager to assist the Safety Director with implementing and ensuring the Safety Program, Site Safety Plans, and Sub-contracts are enforced at the construction site. You will ensure that our company and all subcontractors are complying and adhering to OSHA guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. The Site Safety Manager will motivate, educate, and coach employees and all contractors onsite to adhere to all safety policies and regulations.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitors and help evaluate the workplace to ensure compliance with all OSHA, company policies, and all other agencies.
  • Support Safety Director with incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Support the Safety Director with meetings such as Toolbox Talks, Committee Meetings, etc.
  • Inspect Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to Arc Flash protective gear, Safety glasses/goggles, gloves, etc.
  • Provide and conduct safety audits, PROCORE observations, and safety supply orders for management as requested.
  • Stay current and up to date with OSHA and other regulatory safety guidelines.
  • Ability to stay at one construction site for an extended period of time.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for all employees exhibiting unsafe and safe behaviors.
  • Perform and assist with risk, hazard, and safety assessments.
  • Perform First Responder duties as needed.

Must-Haves

  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes as they apply to all aspects of solar construction and construction equipment and tools.
  • Ability to evaluate environmental health and safety related risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Experience using MS office, PROCORE, and other databases.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certified
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • OSHA 510 certification

Nice-to-Haves

  • Certified Safety Processional (BCSP), CHST, SSHO, any MESH Certificate, or equivalent desired.
  • Experience in the solar industry.
  • Experience in developing and managing training programs and employees are a plus.
  • Procore certifications
  • Task specific safety training (Fall Protection, Heavy Equipment Operations, Material Handling equipment, NFPA, etc.)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Education and Certifications

  • Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities for the position.

Working Environment and Physical Demand

  • Ability to travel extended periods of time.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
