The Commissioning technician is responsible for all of the project commissioning activities. The development activities include review and understanding of solar plant layout drawings, substation drawings, DC collection one-line diagrams, AC collection one-line diagrams, major equipment specifications, settings lists, IOM's, and construction & commissioning schedules.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform basic construction and commissioning related tasks on PV systems.
• Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning for Vanguard installations.
• Drive quality efforts to assure all installed products meet customer requirements.
• Lead root cause analysis relating to deficiencies.
• Coordinate and oversee all project commissioning activities with client representatives, electrical utility representatives, OEM Technical field advisors, 3rd party testing firms and project management teams & Quality personnel
• Interact professionally with customers and clients, and manage business change within team
• Maintain a safe, positive, and productive work environment for field teams and sub-contractors
• Remain current on industry best practices and work methods for testing and/or commissioning & related functions
• Deliver a service that assures equipment, devices, and wiring are 100% functionally correct while ensuring all state and federal regulatory and environmental rules are followed and maintained
• Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
• Develop and administer the site energization plan(s)
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commissioning and start-up PV solar plants
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of solar PV systems and associated SCADA controls
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is an added advantage
• Experience working with AC & DC Electricity, PV Systems, Trackers, Inverters, and AC collection Systems
• Excellent teamwork skills, foster a positive team environment through the collaborative decision making
• Excellent Communication skills (verbal & written)
• Experience working collaboratively with people and initiatives affecting multiple organization
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and demanding customers
